Announcing the 2025 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Winners in the Livermore Valley Wine Community
The Livermore Valley Wine Community (LVWC) is thrilled to announce that its wineries were awarded a record 211 medals in the 2025 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the largest wine competition in North America. In a true testament to the thriving region, Las Positas Vineyards was named the White Wine Sweepstakes Winner for the second year in a row, which is the first time on record of the competition that a winery has secured back-to-back wins in this category. This year, the winery won for their 2023 Estate Reserve AlbariƱo Livermore Valley CA. Additionally, three wines were awarded Best of Class with another 23 winning Double Gold.
The three Best of Class were awarded to:
- Cuda Ridge Wines 2021 Livermore Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (Category: Cab Sauv – $60.00 – $67.99)
- Las Positas Vineyards 2024 Livermore Valley Estate Reserve Verdelho (Category: Verdelho; Trebbianno; Petit Manseng; and Malvasia Bianca)
- McGrail Vineyards and Winery 2022 Livermore Valley Lucky 8 Vineyards The Westin (Category: Red Blend: Cabernet Franc leading blend)
